Pumpkins in May

In the picture of the boots, please ignore my bedroom furniture...it somehow slipped its way into that picture.
This outfit seemed exceptionally preppy to me: Button down shirt + Jcrew skirt
I got a few of the usual compliments at school, but upon walking into my geometry class, a girl told me that i looked like a pumpkin: green on top, orange on the bottom.
Is that a compliment or an insult? I decided to go for the compliment and said thank you but now i think "pumpkin" when i see this.
Hope you get better compliments than "pumpkin" on your outfits...What is the weirdest compliment you have ever gotten?
This should be interesting ;)

A Universal Law


Memorial Day is generally the day when wearing large doses of white is publicly acceptable (i    call it my universal style law). I usually stick to this rule but have broken it a few times this    year. Now that memorial day is here and gone, my brain is putting white into more and more outfits. The cleanliness and airiness of it makes it perfect for warmer weather (Plus, it makes      "fair skinned" people look tanner). These are some of my favorite white items that i would definitely not mind wearing from now until labor day.

Featured: Books By John Green

Hello everyone!
       As you know I LOVE to read! John Green is my favorite author. His books are magical, beautiful, inspirational, and stunning. Every word, sentence, paragraph, page, and book, has beauty and meaning. His writing skills and his words bring the books to life and make all your feeling so vulnerable.          Seriously, you will CRY! have tissues next to you because you'll be a wreck. Anyways, each of Greene's stories have varying plots, characters, plots, and problems, which makes them all unique and special. I can even describe how AMAZINGLY these books are written. JUST READ THEM!!! Here are some of      his marvelous books for you to ponder on:

Sailor

 Most of the posts lately have been Collages. I think it's time to post some outfits from my own closet again, not just outfits i'm dreaming of...

Can we talk about this necklace? I LOVE IT!!!
Not only is it coral, but it's layered and bauble-y...this may be my favorite necklace...
I looks different layed out than when it hangs, hence me modeling it, but it is truly my current obsession in my closet as of now.
Next, can we talk about these pants? I really like them too, but i have trouble thinking of what to wear with them...i went nautical this time, but i don't want to wear these so literally all the time. I can see them with heels, which i'm willing to try, but any suggestions on this one? I'm a bit stumped and would love some help.

I just noticed that 2/3 of my picks are white...must be my summer brain! I do need a plain white dress, and i love this shift. The scalloping lace detail on the bottom is beautiful. A white dress is parallel to a black dress in my mind: it goes with everything. The only difference is that it adds a lighter, more airy feel. Almost a sense of optimism. I need a dress like this as i have none! 
The intricacy of the jars is stunning as well. They are simply chic and would add a touch of sophistication to any room. 
As for the novel: I am not reading this because the movie is coming out. I have been dying to read this classic for a while and am just getting around to it. I started it on Friday, and my kindle says that i am about 60% through it. It is THAT good.
Now that i have explained my choices, i suppose it is only fair to explain the sudden addition to quotes. I'm not always fabulous with words. I struggle to make these posts have meaning and i can only attempt and fail at adding sarcasm and humor. However, there are many people in the world that excel at providing wisdom and inspiration. Their wisdom pretty much sums up how i feel about these items.

On a more style-oriented note, I was reading one of my favorite blogs and somehow stumbled upon this super amazing jewelry website. Although a little pricey, their jewels are very cute and an interesting alternative to my previous favorite: baublebar. Even though i continue to drool over the selections at baublebar and j.crew, i have most definitely added this site to the list.

While surfing on Gap, an ad caught my eye, which doesn't happen very often. I saw this picture. Now i may not be super involved in the world of fancy designers and the fashion industry (or baby clothes for that matter), but i know who Diane Von Furstenburg is and i have to say, this collection for baby gap leaves me wishing i was a kid again. Every piece is very unique and if i    saw a munchkin dressed in any one of these pieces, i would give them one of my envious i-want-your-entire-outfit looks. I know, real mature. 
I also wanted to take this opportunity to wish all of the moms out there a happy mother's day       in advance. I love my mom beyond words...she is pretty cool (as far as moms go) and is my second opinion when it comes to clothes ;). She supports me in everything i do and that is why       i will be spending the day giving her a home-done manicure and facials. So kudos to all of the moms out there.
Maybe after pampering yourself all day sunday, go pamper your baby girl by buying her some new DVF ;)

Out of this World

Hello everyone!!!!!!!!!!
        First I want to apologize to all of our loyal followers for me not getting on and posting for awhile :( But I LOVE you guys for not leaving. Also, we hope you like the new template and revamp. We really thought it was about time to get the blog a little tender lover and care :)            All of us are SUPER excited to pick things up again (for real) and post our little hearts out.           We truly appreciate how awesome you guys are enthusiastic about very posts and that's what makes it all worth it!Also thanks for the comments, cheers, and even stumbling upon this blog.

      Anyway...... So I myself have been SUPER busy with my classes, keeping  my grades up      (4.0 unweighted GPA whoop whoop!!), and also maintaining an acceptable social life, and of course, SHOPPING!!! YAY!! I really love the new spring styles and patterns. Then again, I just love good weather... it puts everyone in a good mood... and a good shopping mood too :) One of my favorite new trends is the galaxy print clothing. The print is super pretty and yet brings some edge. But, the problem is that this style can turn trashy- easily. So, I'm going to show you guys some awesome, NOT -trashy, galaxy clothes. :




All About the Galaxy

 Of course, these pieces can't go together but they are soooo awesome!!!!!!!! I am a deep thinker so clothing like this make me ponder about the universe beyond... sorry I'm a qwerky person...But seriously these selections are sooooo cute. I found them from etsy, gypsy warrior, and tumblr but you can find your own galaxy print more personalized to what you like. I am obsessed with those sunglasses--- they are just amazing!

       To complete this look I would highly suggest a top/bottom that is one solid color....but if you want to take one less prominent color and have that as the other piece, that's super cool too! As always, these are just my suggestions so feel free to do what you want for this print! :) 


       Also, I wanted to share with you some other "Out of this World" things. I've been really LOVING music by Muse. I am a big music person and I feel that they're songs really go beyong just the lyrics. If you hear just ijne sing, there is so much filling your mind- the percussion, guitar, bass, electronic sounds, and the lyrics. The lyrics are beautiful and the verses capture so much meaning in such simply words. Also, Depeche Mode is SUPER cool! Birdy likes them too! They're elctro sound is so unique and interesting, it makes your eats eat up every song. Despite the fact that they're an 80's band, their music still is pretty modern.

The Triumphant Return!

Greetings loyal followers, and welcome to the new and improved blog! As you may have noticed, it looks a little different around here. That is because we have revamped it for our (get ready for this:)  150th post and almost 1 year anniversary AND our 4000 view mark! Yes this is a fairly big deal for us who have watched this blog-ling grow from 0 to 8 followers. That's not very impressive but we're so thankful for every follower, comment, email, view, ect...
The Truth Is:
Blogging is such a wonderful experience. It is a creative outlet that lets you explore an meet some extremely talented people. All of us have our own style and know what looks good and what doesn't and we all 'dress for success' per se but blogging pushes you to take that extra step and dress just an iota more fancy or think for a few extra minutes on the day's outfit. Either way, it is a positive experience and getting feedback, followers, and more encourages us to keep going so thank you all, above all else.

Now because it's been a little bit since any of us have posted, we decided to wipe clean the slate and reintroduce/tell you a bit about each person in the team:

Birdy:
I'm one of those annoying overly-peppy morning people who stays like that all day and pretty much all night. I'm also one of those girly girls who loves pink and sparkly things. AND i'm one of those girls who doesn't mind going camping with the guys and getting completely filthy not to mention a million mosquito bits. Oh, and did i mention that i'm a total band geek? So yeah, my multiple personalities conflict but i'm a living, breathing human, i promise.
Anywho, from some of my posts, i can assume you've gathered basic details about me like my current favorite color (lilac), or my favorite sports teams (Ravens/Orioles), or maybe that i have a mini obsession with the 80's even if i wasn't alive then. A few other cool facts include that my favorite place in the world is South Carolina, specifically Charleston (i've never left the country though so that may eventually be proven wrong). I want to be a lawyer someday, have have 2 of the cutest labradoodles ever (Buster and Bear), i'm half Irish and half German,  and I swoon from happiness every time i the leaves on the trees re-emerge or the weather hits 60 degrees every day...meaning my favorite season is spring. I don't really have an income of money as i am a little young for a real job so that means i shop when i can which means i love an awesome bargain. My favorite designer(s) are kate spade, ralph lauren, lilly pullitzer, and j.crew. Describing my style presents a challenge: i am mostly feminine/preppy but i can totally be edgy or casual or country or anything you can name! So there you go with my indecisiveness again...*sigh*

Hey guys! Remember me? Haven't logged on in a WHILE, but here I am again and now I’m ready to post!
Here are some updates on moi:
My biggest news is that I got the cutest puppy bulldog in the whole world: Watson! She has kept me busy but it is SO worth it!
Biology has occupied some of my cranium space too…it’s my favorite subject (kind of a surprise coming from a fashion girl, huh?) and I’m hoping to be a doctor one day! Just like Birdy, I am in LOVE with lilac, but I also am a fan of sky blue…hence the name?
Speaking of which, I got some super cute keds recently which are not only my style, but a super casual yet pretty option with jeans. They’re navy blue with a banner of zigzag or ikat print. Think offspring of vans and Sperry’s!

I want so badly to live in Boston: I love the weather (which is weird because it’s always gray but it doesn’t seem to matter!), the T and the food, and the fact that it’s a city lifestyle but not too overwhelmingly so…and it has soooo much history!
It’s also a city with a lot of water around it which allows for nautical dressing. Aka stripes aka my favorite print without competition. I AM OBSESSED WITH STRIPES! The rest of my closet is basically navy red and a load of neck-candy. I’d say my style is classic and casual: My everyday outfit is a cardigan over a tank top, jeans, cute flats, a necklace, and maybe a belt. Classic enough?
I mostly shop at J. Crew, Hollister (I’m short so the miniskirts more or less hit me mid-lower thigh), lucky brand (for jeans), forever 21, sometimes Delia’s, and sometimes the gap. However, if I had a credit card with no limit, I would shop at Kate Spade, Stella McCartney, and J. Crew (loyal customer right here!!). My fashion icon is the one and only Audrey Hepburn. She's an inspiring female role model as well as a fabulous movie star and fashion icon. So there you go! Unlike Birdy, my style is pretty straightforward! Now here are some of my favorite styles:

     I love being outdoors, but i'm not a tomboy...that being said, i'm not a super girly girl either. I'm in the area in between, leaning towards the girly side

My style: I can be very edgy in the winter but I love being more boho in the summer ... But I'm definitely not preppy- at ALL...so i'm more or less the opposite of Sky and Birdy, but i love them all the same :)
I don't have a favorite designer: I love me a good pair of vans, but i generally buy what i want. However, i mainly shop at American Eagle, Urban Outfitters, Old Navy, Nordstrom's, and Garage.
